Mochi Mochi (1000 Achieved!) Part 1

Monday, Thursday, and now Sunday. This is the third day I've gone slime hunting with Kazura-san. ...Huh? You're asking if Sunday isn't a holiday? Well, didn't someone say it? If you're with a high-rank Explorer, you can enter the dungeon even on a day off.

After Monday and Thursday, my magic stone count was over 700. I was so close to my goal of 1,000! Obviously, I was getting restless, dying to see what the next purchasable item would be. So, I asked Kazura-san, and she casually said yes.

Of course, the next official dungeon class was the following Monday, so I only managed to speed things up by one day. But one day is one day. My hard work paid off, and the final magic stone count hit 1,088.

But 1,000 is followed by 10,000... The thought of that future gave me a blue, bordering on black, outlook, but for now, it was time to check the new product! Added below the Slime Lotion was—

[Skill Scroll: Bash (100 Magic Stones)]

...Why? WHY Bash? Isn't that a weapon-slamming attack? I mean, slimes do jump and body-slam you. Wait, so in this world, skills aren't tied to a Class, or learned through training? They're learned from a Scroll?! That actually sounds easy and convenient!

If Skill Scrolls can only be obtained by purchase, then it makes sense that everyone I Appraised had "Skill: None"... wait, Kazura-san has skills. I haven't looked at her status since the first time—I'd probably get yelled at if she found out—so I don't know the details.

Well, she's a rare existence with mana aptitude, so it wouldn't be strange if she had some kind of Blessing like mine. Maybe I should just bite the bullet, tell her about the 'Appraisal' skill, and ask for advice. We are working together, after all.

But she seems a little dense sometimes... She doesn't seem to notice that no items are dropping, that I form a party every time I touch a portal, or anything about my Gift or Skills. If I speak up and open a can of worms, I'll be in trouble. A can of wild dogs would be cuter!

After my bath, having made up my mind. I sat across from Kazura-san, who was relaxing on the sofa in minimal clothing. I had been thinking non-stop in the tub about what to do next.

My classmates—three, no, four of them—are close to overcoming mana sickness. As early as tomorrow, Monday, I'll be rejoining them. If that happens, Kazura-san's duty will be over, and she'll probably leave.

It would be too rude to just send her off after all her help. I mean, she's family through Shouko-san, but I still tied up a Gold-rank Explorer for a whole week on short notice.

She probably wanted to focus on her own dungeon exploration, yet she helped me without a single complaint. It would be brazen to just send her off with a mere "thank you." If the roles were reversed, I'd probably cut ties with the person. But I don't have enough money to pay a Gold-rank Explorer's worth...

After agonizing over various options, my answer was to pay with "goods"—sending her an item. Honestly, it was the only thing I could think of.

I couldn't exactly give a young woman Slime Lotion... well, it does have detox effects, so maybe she'd appreciate it? But realistically, it's sexual harassment.

First, I need to say "thank you" properly—

"So... here you go. Present for you?"

"Why is that a question?"

Worrying all the while, I gently offered her the Skill Scroll that just became available for purchase.

I agonized over whether this was the right thing to do. But the thing is, I don't even know if "Skills" or anything similar exist in this world. Right now, my only source of information is "internet searches," and taking that at face value is dangerous.

So, I thought I could share some information with her. Kazura-san is a 'High-Rank Explorer' and a 'High-Ranking Noble.' By observing her reaction, I could gauge the true value of a Skill Scroll. Not just being careful with it, but determining if it's something I need to keep completely secret.

A Skill Scroll. It's an item that became purchasable just by defeating the weakest monster, the slime. It's almost certain that I can get them from other monsters, too. While this 'Bash' skill is honestly underwhelming, if I could get flashy offensive magic or healing magic, it would be worth a fortune.

...You can never have too much money. If I can sell it, I want to sell it and make a huge profit! And I want to stand out as the 'first discoverer'! ...Of course, this is all dependent on the condition that 'it won't put me or those around me in danger.'
