"Orient Land," Where the Princesses' Silico... Elaborate Dolls... Welcome You
"You... You 'kidnap' me with a weird car in the morning, and then abandon me for the entire day. What's your problem?"
"It's not every day one gets to enter a high-class noble's manor. If I treat it like a stay at a luxury inn, it wasn't a bad experience. But even so, being completely ignored is unacceptable."
"I know you were busy, Yuu-kun. But finding out I'm your 'fiancée' from a random noble instead of you... And then getting grilled by those same nobles for hours about your 'equipment'..."
Atena, Shizuka, and Kikuko-san were piercing me with dead-eyed stares in the morning dining hall. (Which was, in fact, a grand dining hall.) Wait, Granny Kuzunoha! They really grilled them about my junk?!
"Whoa, I was planning to check on you! But then Shouko-san and Kazura-san got summoned, too. So I... had to go sightseeing with the maid who stayed behind.☆" A maid! I mean, I saw them in the other world, but this was my first time seeing a real, authentic Victorian-style maid! How could I not get hyped and go sightseeing with her?
"Oh, I got you souvenirs. 'Piyoko' and 'Okoshi'."
"You're shockingly active, dragging a stranger around an unknown city! And besides, we can buy both of those in Osaka!!"
By the way, the Eito (Tokyo) cityscape... it had a much stronger 'old-town' feel than the one I remember. It was pretty cluttered. There was no Tokyo Tower. Instead, there was an "Eito Radio Tower" that looked suspiciously like the "Tower of the Sun."
"Anyway, today, we're all going to 'Orient Land'!" Girls love Orient Land and Orient Sea, right? (Not that I've ever been.)
"Don't think you can bribe us with—...wait, what is 'Orient Land'?"
"Huh? What do you mean—" It's just the world-famous theme park, popular for its realistic princess silico... animatronics... Oh. I averted my gaze from Atena and pulled out my phone.
I searched for "Orient Land." Then for every other famous amusement park, zoo, and aquarium I could remember. ...Yep, zero hits. Are you serious? So where do couples go for dates? Straight to the "Adult Park (Love Hotel)"?!
...Ah, right. "Dating" doesn't really exist in this world. But there have to be places for kids to play, right?
"Shizuka-san, what's your main 'family outing' memory?"
"Let's see. Being summoned to Kobe for various evening parties... I suppose that's it." I meant "family," not "aristocracy."
"No, not that. More like... 'recreation'? Fun stuff?"
"I don't see the point of 'going out for fun' with my mother..." Well, she's a noble, too. And based on yesterday, her mother is a bit... different. That goes for Shouko, Kazura, and Ayaka, too.
"Okay, representing the common folk: Atena! You have a little sister. You guys go on outings, right?"
"I don't want that responsibility... but yeah. It's just normal stuff, nothing interesting. Flower-viewing in spring, the beach in summer, autumn leaves... tempura? Karaoke or sushi? Did you know Hiesu-san's family runs that famous dango shop?" I have no idea what "that" dango shop is.
"My mother likes history," Kikuko chimed in. "We mostly went to temples, shrines, and castles in the old and new capitals."
Their idea of "fun" is so old-fashioned. They're good "tourist spots," but not where young people hang out. I really need to make a list of "Things From My World That Don't Exist Here." Even "fast food" here is just (non-conveyor) sushi and soba. It's too plain. Sure, they have Western and Chinese food, but it's all "luxury dining."
And yet... they have "shopping malls." Wait... they have "video upload sites" (Ranman Videos), but I've never seen a "video streaming service." Is it because foreign movies and dramas don't get imported?
"...Shouko-san. Is it possible to tour a TV station?"
"Yuugiri-san, you're always so sudden." Shouko looked troubled, but next to her, Ayaka-san's hand shot up.
"Yuugiri-san! Leave that to me! The 'Shoujitsu Group' is under the Rokujou umbrella. Whether you want a tour or an acquisition, I'll have it arranged immediately!"
"I don't really want to run the company... Can I just... ask you to book the tour?"
