My New Life as a Mob Afterword
Afterword
Nice to meet you. I am Shigure Moyu.
Thank you very much for picking up this book, "Escaping the Villain Route: My New Life as a Mob".
This story began with a single sheet of loose-leaf paper.
A good-natured protagonist who simply cannot stop himself from helping people in trouble. That protagonist ends up reincarnating as an eroge villain with nothing but death flags, and although he wants to be a mob, he winds up saving the heroines.
The loose-leaf notes recording the setting of this human named Nishikikoji Kaede, along with Ayame, Kanna, and Natsuki, steadily increased in number, and now they amount to about twenty sheets.
Originally serialized on the web, this work was selected for a Special Award in the 8th Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest. Upon receiving the offer for book publication, several significant changes have been made.
Starting with the trivial conversations between the protagonist and the heroines, Saita's thoughts, the meeting with Ayame, and so on—upon re-examining the story this time, I thought about how these characters, who worry, get hurt, and grow, could shine the brightest. As a result, in addition to the original harem rom-com elements, I added a new element of "youth" involving not just the main cast, but also Narita and the heroines. I believe it has developed into a work where you can warmly enjoy and watch over the growth of the characters.
Now then, I would like to express my acknowledgments.
To my editor in charge. As I spun this tale, I wavered back and forth on the story development and caused you a lot of trouble. This story was born because you consulted with me and gave me precise advice. You did so much for me that I cannot thank you enough. Thank you very much.
To Uiri-sama, who handled the illustrations for this work. When I first saw the character designs, I let out a cry at their overwhelming beauty and how they were exactly as I had imagined the characters to be. Thank you so much for giving form and color to Nishikikoji, Ayame, Kanna, Natsuki, and Saita with your wonderful illustrations.
This work was born with the support of many people. I owe a debt of gratitude so deep I can hardly repay it to everyone involved in the publication of this work.
And to the readers who picked up "Escaping the Villain Route: My New Life as a Mob". I express my heartfelt gratitude. I would be happy if you enjoyed it.
As I mentioned at the beginning, this work was born from a single sheet of loose-leaf paper.
With the help of many people, the characters on the page began to move, became a story, and thus, I was able to publish it as a single book starting from that one sheet.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much.
If there is another opportunity, let's meet again somewhere! Until then.
